JERSEY CITY, N.J., September 4, 2025

Free AI for an entire nation? Yes! OpenAI just announced, it is making its advanced ChatGPT GO subscription free to all its users in India for a full year, from November 4, 2025. This is a strategic move to capture an entire market as India is the second-largest and fastest-growing market anyway.

OpenAI shows a strong commitment to Indian developers and the national IndiaAI Mission. The offer launches alongside the company’s first DevDay event in Bengaluru, India. This is a big step up as it runs on GPT-5;it gives people and businesses a better “co-pilot” with features like talking to it more often, helping with ongoing projects thanks to a better memory, creating custom tools, and handling files and images.

To avail the offer, you just have to simply log in to ChatGPT and select the “Upgrade Plan” option on or after November 4th.

This changes things globally, by giving away the free premium subscription the company is upskilling millions of workers and creating  a massive pool of skilled users. This subscription directly gives competition to other rivals like Google who made similar moves.

OpenAI’s plan to open offices in New Delhi and Bengaluru reflect their commitment that will further influence how businesses integrate AI into their operations and partnerships. To put it simply, this free access guarantees a faster, more competitive, and AI-literate market tomorrow, which will be essential to the global strategies of US businesses.
