On 9th February 2021, Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, announced that he will allow community funding worth $ 1.5 million. Further, he also intends to elect one of the crowd funding member in his board of directors. During the announcement, he mentioned that he wants community to be part of the journey. Having a community member in board of directors will keep the company in check and remind the requirement of users. Pre-registrations of the funding has opened up on 16Th February 2021.
Till now the company has raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Google Ventures (GV). Some of the other investors in the London based company include tech investors and leaders- Indian Entrepreneur and CRED co-founder Kunal Shah, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, Beme co-founder Casey Neistat, and Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.
Carl Pie plans to invest proceeds from the funding in expansion of team and operations and further on R&D and design. The company has scheduled to launch its community and first product in first half of 2021.
