Tapping Multiple Cloud Vendors Delivers Clear Business Benefits
A recent IDG Research survey of 100 senior IT professionals confirms that multi-cloud adoption is no longer a trend it’s the new normal. Nearly 60% of organizations are already using two or more cloud providers, with another 31% planning adoption within the next 24 months. Companies are increasingly turning to multi-cloud to accelerate agility, improve operational speed, and better align IT with business needs benefits that go well beyond cost savings.
The survey also highlights the maturity path of multi-cloud initiatives, spanning five stages from planning and design to full optimization. While many companies remain in the early phases of building, provisioning, and migrating workloads, those that reach the monitoring and optimization stages report significantly greater ROI. Challenges remain especially adapting IT processes to dynamic demand and ensuring financial transparency but companies embracing multi-cloud strategies are already seeing measurable advantages over peers still in the consideration phase.
