AI voice-to-text startup Wispr Flow raised $280 million in a Series B funding round at a $2 billion valuation on August 17, with Menlo Ventures leading the investment. The round brings the company’s total capital raised to $361 million, according to Wispr Flow’s official Series B announcement.

The financing comes as Wispr Flow develops its own speech-recognition technology and expands its voice-based software across workplace use cases. Reuters separately confirmed the funding terms and reported that Wispr Flow’s products are used at more than 10,000 enterprises.

Wispr Flow is expanding beyond AI dictation into proprietary speech recognition and broader workplace voice tools.

Key Facts

  • Wispr Flow raised $280 million in Series B funding at a $2 billion valuation, taking its total capital raised to $361 million.
  • Menlo Ventures led the round, alongside existing and new investors, according to Wispr Flow’s announcement.
  • The company also previewed Canto, its first proprietary speech-recognition model.
  • Wispr Flow says its products are used at more than 10,000 enterprises, according to Reuters.

How Has the Latest Wispr Flow Funding Changed Its Valuation?

The latest Wispr Flow funding values the company at $2 billion, nearly three times the $700 million valuation Reuters reported in November 2025. The earlier valuation was reported by Reuters, while there was no mention on Wispr Flow’s official website.

In its November 2025 funding announcement, Wispr Flow said the $25 million round brought its total funding at the time to $81 million.

Menlo Ventures, which led the latest round, has backed Wispr Flow since its Series A and lists the company in its portfolio.

What Is Wispr Flow’s New Canto Speech Model?

Canto is Wispr Flow’s first proprietary speech-recognition model, previewed alongside the latest funding announcement.

CEO and co-founder Tanay Kothari said the model was designed for difficult real-world conditions. “We built this model for where people actually use Flow,” he said, adding that Wispr Flow’s testing showed word error rates falling from more than 30% to between 5% and 10% in conditions involving background noise, wind, heavy accents, or music.

The performance figures are based on Wispr Flow’s own testing and have not been independently benchmarked.

How Is Wispr Flow Expanding Beyond Dictation?

Wispr Flow is extending its voice technology from speech-to-text writing into meetings and other workplace workflows.

On August 5, the company launched Wispr Flow Notetaker, describing it as its first product beyond dictation. The tool captures meetings and turns conversations into transcripts, summaries and next steps.

Wispr Flow said Notetaker is available on Mac, with Windows planned.

What Does This Mean for B2B Businesses?

For B2B businesses, Wispr Flow’s expansion shows voice AI moving beyond transcription into everyday workplace workflows, including writing, meeting capture and AI-assisted tasks.

For marketing, sales and operations teams, wider voice-AI adoption could influence how businesses evaluate productivity, collaboration and sales-enablement tools as voice becomes more integrated into existing software workflows.
