Apple is quietly working on a big upgrade to Siri. The new version will let users ask for multiple things in one go, instead of giving one command at a time.

Right now, if you want Siri to check the weather, set a calendar event, and send a message, you have to ask for each one separately. The upgrade being developed would let users combine all those requests into a single prompt. Apple is building this as part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, which are expected to roll out later this year.

The feature is expected to be shown publicly at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2026

Apple also plans to turn Siri into a proper chatbot, one that can hold back-and-forth conversations, handle multi-step tasks, and answer detailed questions in one query. This is something Siri has never been able to do well, and it has been a common complaint for years.

To make all of this possible, Apple struck a deal with Google, and the next generation of Apple’s AI models will be built on Google’s Gemini technology . Despite the partnership, Apple’s control over both its hardware and software still gives it an advantage over rivals in terms of speed and privacy.

Apple’s ecosystem now covers over 2.2 billion active devices, so changes to Siri will reach a massive number of people quickly. For workers in sales, management, and other fast-moving roles, a Siri that can complete several steps at once could save real time each day.

Apple’s longtime AI chief John Giannandrea stepped down and was replaced by Amar Subramanya, a former AI executive from Microsoft and Google, who now reports to software head Craig Federighi. Federighi now has direct control over Apple’s entire AI push, marking a shift toward shipping products faster rather than focusing on research.

Apple is expected to release the full updated Siri in September 2026, though some features may carry a “Preview” label and roll out gradually.
