FirstLight Selects Netcracker OSS to Support Fiber Network Expansion

September 23, 2026: FirstLight, a U.S. provider of fiber-optic and enterprise network services, has selected Netcracker Technology’s Digital OSS platform as it expands its fiber network across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.

FirstLight will use Netcracker’s operations platform to replace multiple legacy systems used to manage its network. According to the companies, the platform will provide a unified view of network operations and support data management and decision-making as FirstLight adds infrastructure and customers.

“We’ve built one of the most extensive fiber networks in the Northeast, and we’re not slowing down,” said Mike Constantino, chief operating officer (COO) at FirstLight. He said the partnership will give the company a platform to support its network expansion.

FirstLight operates about 20,000 route miles of fiber connecting more than 16,000 locations, with another 168,000 locations in close proximity to its network, according to Netcracker. Its network spans six states and supports bandwidth of up to 800 Gbps, the company said.

As part of the agreement, FirstLight is replacing multiple legacy systems with Netcracker’s Intelligent Operations Platform. The companies said the platform uses AI and will provide a single view of FirstLight’s network and operations as the company expands its footprint.

The agreement follows other telecom operators’ efforts to replace legacy systems. In June, Belgian provider Telenet expanded its partnership with Netcracker as part of a B2B transformation program. Telenet said it plans to move small and medium-sized business and large-enterprise customers and products from legacy systems to Netcracker’s Digital BSS platform.

For FirstLight, the agreement is tied to its ongoing fiber network expansion. The company provides fiber-optic data, internet, data center, cloud, unified communications and cybersecurity services to enterprise and carrier customers.

“Netcracker is thrilled to have been selected by FirstLight to help support its accelerated fiber rollout and deliver the most advanced services to its customers,” said Rohit Aggarwal, general manager at Netcracker. He further added, “We’re looking forward to working closely with FirstLight as it takes its network to the next level and continues its rapid expansion.”

The companies did not disclose the financial terms or implementation timeline of the agreement.
