The partnership will establish a dedicated Anthropic business unit at HCLTech, integrate Claude into selected enterprise software products and support governed AI deployments across industries.

October 12, 2026 – HCLTech announced a Global Premier Partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI, with a focus on safety, cybersecurity and governance.

Key Facts

  • Partnership: HCLTech and Anthropic signed a Global Premier Partnership on October 12, 2026.
  • Dedicated AI unit: HCLTech will establish an Anthropic Business Unit and Center of Excellence to develop and scale enterprise AI solutions.
  • Product integration: Claude will be integrated into selected HCLSoftware products, including HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan.
  • AI engineering: HCLTech plans to integrate Claude and Claude Code into its AI Force platform.
  • Focus areas: Agentic AI deployments across cybersecurity, automation, application development and digital employee services.
  • Safety and governance: Planned deployments will incorporate policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight.

Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and Center of Excellence (CoE) to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI. The initiative will focus on industry-specific solutions, secure sandbox environments for Claude deployments through forward-deployed engineers, and support for workforce training and AI-native engineering practices.

The partnership combines Anthropic’s Claude models and development tools with HCLTech’s engineering, cloud, data and enterprise technology capabilities. HCLTech’s services teams will develop solutions powered by Claude, Cowork and Claude Code, while HCLSoftware will embed Claude capabilities into selected enterprise products. The collaboration aims to help businesses move from AI experimentation to secure, large-scale deployment across business and technology operations.

“Few technology companies combine the scale of a global systems integrator with the product depth of an ISV. That gives us a rare advantage to securely engineer and deploy Agentic AI at scale and deliver the business outcomes that matter most to our clients. Our partnership with Anthropic further strengthens our capabilities to achieve the same,” said C. Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director, HCLTech.

HCLSoftware to integrate Claude into enterprise products

HCLSoftware will become an Anthropic independent software vendor (ISV) partner, enabling it to integrate Claude capabilities into selected products across cybersecurity, automation, business process applications and application development.

The products identified in the announcement include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, with the collaboration also supporting Actian AI Analyst. These integrations are intended to bring AI capabilities closer to the enterprise applications organizations already use, rather than limiting adoption to standalone AI assistants.

HCLTech also plans to integrate Claude and Claude Code into AI Force, its agentic software engineering platform. The proposed workflows include IT support, code remediation and digital employee services.

The company said these workflows will incorporate policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight for high-impact changes. Such controls are important where AI systems can interact with enterprise applications, modify code or initiate actions that affect business operations.

Safety and governance at the centre of deployment

The agreement places responsible deployment alongside the development of new AI capabilities. Agentic AI systems can perform multi-step tasks, interact with software and execute actions within defined permissions. Their potential business value depends partly on whether organizations can manage access, monitor activity and intervene when systems encounter unexpected conditions.

Daniela Amodei, Anthropic’s co-founder and president, said the company aims to give businesses confidence in using Claude for sensitive and valuable work. She cited HCLTech’s work with banks, hospitals, telecommunications companies and manufacturers as relevant to the partnership.

“AI can only be as useful as it is trustworthy,” Amodei said in the announcement, describing the collaboration as part of the companies’ broader work on AI capability and safety.

C. Vijayakumar, HCLTech’s CEO and managing director, said the combination of global systems integration capabilities and enterprise software products gives the company an advantage in deploying agentic AI securely at scale. He said the partnership would strengthen HCLTech’s ability to deliver business outcomes for clients.

What the partnership means for enterprise technology leaders

For enterprise customers, the partnership offers a way to explore Claude-powered applications within their existing technology environments. Potential use cases include software development, IT operations, cybersecurity and employee support. The value of these applications will depend on how well they address each organization’s specific needs.

Before adopting AI agents at scale, technology leaders will need to decide which tasks can be automated, what level of system access agents should have and how sensitive data will be protected. They will also need clear rules for human oversight, along with measures to track reliability, costs and business impact.

HCLTech said the partnership builds on its existing expertise in engineering, data, cloud and software. The goal is to help customers move beyond AI pilots and put solutions into wider use, with appropriate safeguards and governance in place.

However, the announcement leaves some commercial details unclear. It does not disclose the financial value of the agreement, a timeline for individual customer deployments or expected revenue from the partnership. It also provides no quantified results from customer implementations.

Ultimately, the partnership’s impact will depend on how effectively the two companies turn their plans into working enterprise solutions. Demonstrating measurable business value, while meeting security, operational and governance requirements, will be key to wider adoption.
